Talking and Exploring – Discovering Olde Ealing

Saturday 10 August

Description & further information

Meet at The New Inn for a chill and chat, some beverage and a snack if you like. From the pub we will walk towards Ealing Green to look at the famous Ealing Studios, step into Walpole Park and catch a glimpse of the historic Pitzhanger Manor..

Then, we will do some window shopping along the Green towards St Mary’s Church, the oldest church in Ealing, chatting on the way and learning about the famous schools that were once in the area where the university is now.. We will then be near the place where Ealing began before all the later developments along the Uxbridge Road.

Talking and Exploring walks are walks with a difference because as well as giving both historical and contemporary information about the places we see, we encourage the participation and involvement of those present and particularly value the contributions of those who may have more personal knowledge of an area and stories to tell.

A few more things:

Please remember, that it will cost £15 exact cash to join on the day, depending on availability.

Pictures are taken during our walks and some of the walk may be recorded so please let us know if you do not want to be included.

You take part in our events at your own risk although we take all the precautions to assess the route prior to the walks.
