Win a headline slot at New Gen Festival

New Gen Festival, West London’s festival for and by young people, is running a series of Open Mic nights in Southall and Greenford, with the latter giving young musicians the opportunity to win a slot on the main stage at this year’s festival on Wednesday 24th July.

 

Musicians aged between 10-25 are encouraged to sign up for two Open Mic events in Greenford and Southall, two areas where New Gen is looking to raise the representation of young people at the festival.

 

Wednesday 3rd July, 6-8pm – Greenford Community Centre

The Greenford event is hosted by Arcain, WXSTFINEST, and Blacktar with support from Bollo Studios, Acton’s hub for youth arts and creativity.

To register your interest and be in with a chance of winning a headline slot, send an email with your artist name and two PA tracks to newgenfestival.ealing@gmail.com

Thursday 11th July, 6-8pm – Parkside Yards, Southall Green Quarter (organised with Rebels and Pilgrims)

The Southall event is organised by Rebels and Pilgrims, who run creative community pop-ups and are committed to inspiring everyone living in and around Southall to play, connect and elevate each other through:

  • Developing a tight-knit creative community
  • Giving talent a space to connect & perform
  • Building diverse outreach programmes
  • Supporting local talent to build their creative careers

New Gen Festival takes place in Walpole Park as part of Ealing’s Summer Festival Programme. The festival is programmed by and aimed towards young people in Ealing, with volunteers aged 10-25 years old forming the festivals wide range of cultural events. Alongside music stages, this year’s festival will include dance classes, art workshops, film making, spoken word performances and a wellness centre.
