Paid opportunity for artists to create community artwork in Southall

The UKSPF Southall Public Art Project

At Ealing Council, we are looking for artists to create community murals or public artworks in six locations across Southall. The locations are:

1. Dominion Centre and Southall Library
2. Southall train station bridge and vicinity
3. Southall Broadway bridge
4. Norwood Road bridge/Grand Union Canal
5. Merrick Road footbridge
6. Southall Broadway shopfront and vicinity

These commissions have indicative budgets between £10k and £85.

This unique opportunity is part of The UKSPF (UK Shared Prosperity Fund) Southall Public Art Project.

This exciting initiative is designed to promote Southall as a destination and celebrate its heritage and distinctiveness. Themes for these projects include celebrating heritage, the migration experience, the resurgence of Southall’s creative community and the future vision of Southall.

There is a two stage application process, with Expressions of Interest (EOI) to be submitted to culture@ealing.gov.uk by midday on Wednesday 3 September. The EOI will need to include your portfolio, CV and artist statement. Full information is in the Artist Brief.

This project is being funded by the Government UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The fund aims to improve pride in place, while increasing life chances, investing in communities and supporting local business, people and skills.
