Open Havelock Community Centre

Open Havelock is a Community space, developed by transforming 36 abandoned garages and 2,000 square metres of empty space into a suite of new facilities for the community. The space is available for both long term and one off hire and has a range of space options to explore, including a large Multi-Purpose room, a timber glazed room that opens out onto the newly landscaped garden. This space was designed to meet a range of community needs, its reclaimed timber gymnasium floor and mirrored back cupboards make it perfect for dance and movement classes as well as many other activities and private events. The ‘Play-Pods’ in the north of the site we’re co-designed with local early years providers to meet the needs of children and young people, these spaces provide opportunities for creative and nature-led play and learning. Available for long-term hire, the play-pods include a toy library where play materials and learning resources can be stored for regular use. These heated rooms are decorated in calm, pastel colours and have smooth resin flooring. Access to toilet, baby change, kitchen facilities and garden space is included with all spaces.
