Join writer, storyteller, educator and former Ealing councillor Grace Quansah (Akuba) for a special Black History Season celebration exploring family history, African heritage, faith and the remarkable stories preserved across generations.
In 2013, the discovery of a family chest revealed a previously unknown chapter in Grace’s late father’s life, connecting his story to Ghana’s Black Star Line and Marcus Garvey’s vision of Black enterprise and self-determination.
Through personal storytelling, family photographs, historical discoveries and a reading from her forthcoming children’s book, Treasured Trunk, Grace will explore how ordinary family possessions can unlock extraordinary histories.
Drawing upon 1 Thessalonians 2:1–8, the presentation also reflects on faith, migration, courage, love and the importance of sharing our stories with future generations.
Join St Dunstan’s Church at either:
- 9.00am, Holy Communion
- or 10.45am, Morning Praise
All ages are welcome. The event forms part of the church’s regular Sunday services.
