Artist works with school children to inspire map for the art trail

School children at Villiers High School had the chance to take part in our Southall Art Project.

Artist and illustrator Kush, one of the artists we selected to work on the project delivered a workshop for the school children. She encouraged them to create collages and artworks inspired by some of their favourite places in Southall.

Kush will be using these creations to help inspire and inform a new map of Southall that will take people on an art trail across Southall to see different public arts across the town.

Who’s Kush?

Kush is a UK based freelance illustrator. With a background in fashion design, Kush moved into the world of illustration driven by an innate passion for visual storytelling. She explores illustration and design as a way to reflect and explore her British Asian heritage and what that means for her identity and self expression. Kush’s work has appeared in campaigns for brands including Apple, WhatsApp and BBC Sport.
